In 1983, Shenzhen had its first eyeglasses factory in Henggang, Shenzhen. The founder was from Hong Kong, and my father and many other Chinese people became the first to learn high-end eyeglasses production. Regarding Japan and Italy, our production technology was ACETATE, pure titanium, white copper and other raw materials for manual processing. Hong Kong enterprises are faced with high-end European and American brands and have strict product requirements, which resulted in the excellent craftsmanship of my father’s generation and their mastery of high-end quality.
27 Years of love for the perfect glasses
27 years ago, Master Feng and my father started to learn glass manufacturing in Shenzhen. he still loves to make glasses. I asked him why he didn’t consider doing other work, and he answered, “I’ve carefully made over 58,000 glasses that are now around the world, and I’m sure many people still use them, and it makes me happy because I’m connected to the world.” We hired him as our product quality manager to educate our younger generation.
Traditional technology is facing a huge impact.
PC injection glasses, the appearance of alloy glasses, and the advantage of low prices impact the traditional manual, serious work in the face of mechanical efficiency; it is powerless to resist; the cost of $1 lets the artisans lose their jobs, but the people who know the quality let us see hope.
